For nearly two decades, our company was among the leading contributors to the post-earthquake reconstruction of Friuli, particularly in relation to the rebuilding of the Carnia region.
In the days immediately following the earthquake of May 6, 1976, the company promptly deployed teams of technicians and workers to carry out the first emergency safety interventions on damaged buildings.
Ennio Riccesi was, together with many Friulian and Veneto-Julian companies, co-founder of CORIF – the Friuli Reconstruction Consortium — serving for a period as its president.
Among the most significant works completed during this period were the restoration of the Tolmezzo Cathedral, the Tolmezzo Town Hall, the Banca Carnica headquarters, as well as numerous urban and architectural interventions involving schools, public and private housing complexes, barracks, retirement homes, and other facilities.
During these years, Riccesi S.p.A. also established a separate company branch, Riccesi Friuli, doubling both the size of its organisation and workforce throughout the entire reconstruction phase in Friuli.
