Built in 1960, this building is located within the historic centre of Trieste, overlooking the marina waterfront, and was in a poor state of maintenance prior to the intervention.
In order to improve safety, energy efficiency, and the overall appearance of the property, a comprehensive redevelopment project was carried out under a private contract benefiting from the Italian 90% tax incentive scheme.
The external renovation involved the installation of a modern ventilated façade system composed of glass wool insulation covered with 4 mm double-layer aluminium panels fixed to a substructure of brackets and anchors.
In compliance with current fire safety regulations, all works were executed according to Fire Brigade requirements in order to achieve the required fire reaction classification.
For the balconies, a traditional external insulation system was installed using 10 cm thick glass wool panels finished with textured plaster.
The balcony edges, which were severely deteriorated, were entirely rebuilt and structurally reinforced using special rheoplastic structural mortars and additional resin-fixed reinforcement bars.
For the parapets, an aluminium track support system anchored to the structure with threaded rods and fitted with double structural glazing was adopted, providing the façades with greater visual lightness and transparency.
