The new "A. Diaz" Primary School in Corva replaces a historical building that had undergone multiple expansions and no longer met contemporary structural, energy, and educational standards. Funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the intervention entails on-site demolition and reconstruction across two above-ground floors. The structural framework utilizes a hybrid system: reinforced concrete and structural steel for the ground floor, combined with glued laminated timber (glulam) and cross-laminated timber (CLT/X-lam) for the upper floor, incorporating dedicated spaces for teaching, dining, an open library, and communal activities.
