The works carried out between 2004 and 2010 were divided into three separate phases and involved the restoration and extension of the historic Villa Marocco–Fustenberg on the Terraglio in Mestre, dating back to the late 17th century.
The first phase involved the conservative restoration and change of use of a series of agricultural buildings annexed to the villa, to serve as the new headquarters of Banca IFIS.
The second phase concerned an underground volumetric expansion and the construction of parking facilities within part of the adjacent garden, also intended for the bank’s use.
The third phase focused on the restoration of the villa’s monumental main building, creating representative spaces and offices, including the family chapel in an adjoining structure. This building was the site where the surrender of Venice was signed in 1848 between Daniele Manin and Field Marshal Radetzky.
